I’ve often been asked how long I’ve been taking photos, and the answer is: as long as I can remember. I think I was about 5 when I was given my first camera - a bright yellow, plastic Crayola camera.

When I was about 10, my parents and I were hiking right before sunset. My mother kept pointing to the next plateau up the mountain, saying that my father could get the best photo of the sunset if we could get up there. Several plateaus and one sunset later, he had taken some great photos (and I some mediocre ones with the aforementioned Crayola camera), and we were on top of a mountain in the dark, with only a single-bulb LED flashlight to light the way down.

My father referred to my mother as "his lunatic wife," and me, "his rapidly becoming lunatic daughter." While I like to think that I demonstrate a little more sense than my 10-year-old self, I can't make any promises when it comes to chasing the perfect photo.

I've explored up and down the west coast, from southern California, where I was born and raised, to Juneau, Alaska, where I worked tourism jobs while I was in college. I've settled (for now) in the beautiful state of Washington, since I've found that I'm a pacific northwesterner at heart. There's something magical about the trees and the mountains here, and I hope you can see that reflected in my photos.

Although my passion has always been landscape photography, I’ve recently started to dabble in photography of people - especially people in beautiful, scenic locations. Let me know if you’re interested, and I’m sure we can create something incredible together!

Hi, I’m Hannah
